I’ve filled in forms for most of my adult life and nothing has ever compared with the stress of the 220 and 230 paperwork. It’s a fitting introduction to the intricacies of American bureaucracy. You don’t just have to tell them your address; you have to tell them everywhere you’ve lived for the last x number of years.
When I was a kid, you could smile in passport photos. Now due to biometrics, you have to be perfectly positioned in frame. You can’t be smiling or smirking or appear in any way attractive. These days, it may seem like a good option to take the shot yourself, but it’s better to get it taken at a place like a post office. The US passport photo specs are different to what the Australian Government expects. The size is closer to a square. When getting it taken, make sure you explain this clearly to the photographer.
